Bob is currently the CEO of Audible, the leading creator and provider of premium audio storytelling. Bob leads a global business that inspires, entertains and educates tens of millions of listeners in over 180 countries, in 47 languages.
Previously, Bob was Chairman and CEO of Dun and Bradstreet. He has served as Executive Chairman of Genscape, a leading provider of data and analytics to the global energy markets, and as a board member of CyberGRX, a leading third-party cybersecurity risk platform. Bob also served as CEO of IDG Communications, serving an additional three years on IDG’s board of directors. Earlier, Bob spent four years at America Online, Inc., where he completed over 100 content, advertising, and commerce deals aggregating $2B+.
Bob has deep experience working with early-stage technology companies via board roles, angel investing, CEO mentoring, and VC advisory. In 2019, Bob collaborated with Growth Catalyst Partners, a middle-market private firm focused on investing in information, marketing and tech-enabled services, to form TrueFire Studios, where he remains an investor and advisor. Bob’s involvement with TrueFire Studios reflects his commitment to and passion for providing affordable, anytime, anywhere access to best-in-class artists and the most comprehensive music library on the planet.
Bob is a former Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). In 2016, he was awarded the EY Master Entrepreneur of the Year Award for New Jersey, and was also appointed by President Obama to serve on the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC). In 2023, he was named as a 2023 Top 50 Business Leader of New Jersey by The Business Report. Previously, Bob was named as a publishing Industry Top 100 Influencer by Folio, CEO Innovator of the Year by Media Business, and was inducted into the Digital Hall of Fame by Media Industry Group.
