Lori Christian serves as Executive Vice President of Marketing at Universal Music Group Nashville where she oversees the Brands & Sponsorship, Creative Services, International Marketing, Media Marketing, and Project Management departments for the label group’s artist roster and special projects across Capitol Records Nashville, EMI Records Nashville, MCA Nashville, Mercury Nashville, Silver Wings Records, and the newly added divisions, Capitol Comedy Nashville and Sing Me Back Home Productions, UMG Nashville’s film and tv production arm. Christian joined UMG Nashville in 2012 to lead the publicity department before rising through the ranks to her current role as EVP of Marketing. In her time with the label group, Christian has played a key role in crafting overall messaging and defining narrative for UMG Nashville artists and their music. She has overseen the launches of multi-platinum-selling, award-winning projects from Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, and Luke Bryan, among others, as well as development to now multi-platinum-selling status for artists including Brothers Osborne, Jon Pardi, Jordan Davis, and Sam Hunt. Christian has also played an instrumental role in advancing the careers of critically acclaimed artists including Mickey Guyton, Parker McCollum, Sam Williams, Tyler Hubbard, and The War And Treaty.
Christian, a Pittsburgh-native and Denison University graduate, began her career in New York City gaining publicity experience at NBC, Rogers & Cowan, Goodman Media, and Paul Freundlich & Associates. Christian moved to Nashville in 2005 where she first handled publicity at Sony Music for the RCA Records label roster before moving to Capitol Records Nashville to oversee its publicity department. In 2012, the merger of EMI/Capitol and Universal Music Group led to Christian’s role as VP of Media Marketing for UMG Nashville. Christian has named to Billboard’s Women In Music list for two years running (2023-2024), and throughout her career, in addition to mentoring rising music industry colleagues, Christian has led campaigns for some of country music’s most notable talents including Alan Jackson, Brenda Lee, Carrie Underwood, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, and many more.
Christian currently resides in Brentwood, Tenn. with her husband and two sons.
