Save The Music Ushers in a New Era as an Independent Nonprofit
On January 29th, Save The Music took a bold step forward, officially announcing our independence from Paramount after 27 years. This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the organization, reaffirming our mission to bring quality music education to students across the country.

To amplify the announcement, Save The Music launched a dynamic campaign that combined digital advocacy, PR, and community engagement. Through a partnership with Propeller, the organization activated a nationwide movement, rallying support for music education through artist collaborations, advocacy messages, and exclusive fundraising opportunities.The campaign featured a custom leaderboard with 19 artist auction prizes—including Sabrina Carpenter, GHOST, Jelly Roll, Blake Shelton, Robert Glasper, and Pete Rock x Common—advocacy messages from 10 legacy Save The Music ambassadors including Chelsea Cutler, Young The Giant, Brittney Spencer, Ed Sheeran and Jelly Roll. To celebrate this milestone, Save The Music also launched an exclusive “Indie” merch collection– re-launching soon on the Save The Music website.

The announcement around this new era garnered widespread media attention, with coverage from Billboard, CNN, Pollstar, and others highlighting Save The Music’s transition and the launch of a $10 million endowment to ensure long-term sustainability. The endowment will empower Save The Music to expand its grantmaking and advocacy efforts, reinforcing its commitment to reaching every classroom and ensuring every student has access to the transformative power of music.

Since its founding in 1997, Save The Music has been a trailblazer in music education, supporting programs in over 285 school districts nationwide. As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization is now poised to further its impact, with ambitious plans for 2025 and beyond. By deepening partnerships, expanding grant programs, and continuing to advocate for systemic change, Save The Music is ensuring that music remains an essential part of every student’s education.
