Earlier this year, the Central Bucks School District in Doylestown, PA held their annual concert to benefit Save The Music.
The show has been taking place since 2004, but in 2018, the stakes were higher—if they raised $35,000, they could fund an instrument grant to an area in need.
Together, the community raised $35,467.31 to support Orleans Parish School District in New Orleans, LA, which has struggled to maintain many of its music programs after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The money specifically gave a Core Band Grant to Success Preparatory Academy at Thurgood Marshall.
We’re happy to share that the students just opened their new instruments! Thank you, CBSD, for giving the gift of music and putting the smiles on these kids’ faces.
