The 3 Stations

student with music technology

It’s important to set yourself up for success in creating spaces for music technology. Take the time to properly set up and streamline your classroom’s functionality to save yourself from time-consuming logistical issues in the future. For schools and educators that receive our music technology grant, we suggest setting up three main stations: Teacher Station, Student Producer Station, and a Live performance and Recording Station. Each station is designed with specific educational and practical purposes in mind.

The Teacher Station serves as the hub of the classroom. It is equipped with advanced technology to allow instructors easy access to a wide range of gear. This setup is intended for you to quickly and seamlessly transition between topics and technology so you can focus on what really matters: teaching!

The Student Producer Station is designed to be simple, beginner-friendly workspace where a student has their own dedicated device, headphones, and basic production equipment. This setup empowers students to explore music production independently, fostering creativity and hands-on learning. Depending on your classroom, these could be permanent stations or temporary setups that are easily packed and stored away.

The Live Performance and Recording Station is a hybrid space designed to facilitate both live performances, where students can play with a full band through a professional PA system, and recording sessions where students can capture high-quality recordings of their performances. This is a versatile area that allows students to experience the full spectrum of music technology, from performing to engineering.

Let’s dive into each station and how to set it up!
